Top AEW Revolution Matches to Watch

Sting & Darby Allin vs. The Young Bucks

Sting is undoubtedly the featured attraction for Revolution, as the thousands in attendance and many more watching around the world will primarily be tuning in to witness The Icon's send-off.

Since making his shocking arrival in AEW back in late 2020, Sting has only competed in tag team matches alongside Allin, and he has gone undefeated.

That included recently beating Ricky Starks and Big Bill for the AEW World Tag Team Championships, meaning Sting is entering his final match as a titleholder.

Remaining undefeated and going out a champion will depend on whether Sting and Allin are able to beat one of the most decorated and successful tag teams in professional wrestling history in The Young Bucks.

Matt and Nick Jackson have excelled all over the world and were among the driving forces behind the creation of AEW. Lately, they have made that fact part of their characters, and it has resulted in them becoming heels.

Based on The Young Bucks' gimmick, the fans will be firmly behind Sting and in support of him winning his final match.

The result could believably go either way, but regardless of whether Sting wins or loses, he figures to pull out all the stops to put on a great performance, as will Allin and The Young Bucks.

Samoa Joe vs. Hangman Page vs. Swerve Strickland

Although it is unlikely to main event over Sting, the AEW World Championship match has the potential to steal the show at Revolution.

Samoa Joe, who ended MJF's record title reign of 406 days at World End in December, is set for his first pay-per-view title defense, going up against the two top contenders in the company in "Hangman" Adam Page and Swerve Strickland.

Page and Strickland have been at odds for months, so it is fitting that they are taking their rivalry to the next level by vying for the world title.

For a moment, it looked as though I wrench was being thrown into the match, as Page was on a crutch on Dynamite and said he would be unable to compete at Revolution, but it was all a ruse, and he attacked Strickland instead.

Page vs. Strickland figures to be the main focus of the match, but as AEW world champion, Joe will likely ensure that he isn't a forgotten man.

Joe retaining and saving a title change for a time when the world championship is in the main event is probably the direction AEW will go in, but the possibility of Strickland being crowned for the first time or Page becoming a two-time champ adds a ton of intrigue to the match.

Toni Storm vs. Deonna Purrazzo

Amid rumors of Mercedes Moné making her AEW debut in March, the AEW women's division is on the verge of becoming a bigger deal than ever before.

That will be on full display at Revolution when "Timeless" Toni Storm defends the AEW Women's World Championship against recent arrival Deonna Purrazzo.

Purrazzo signed with AEW in January, but she has already established herself as a top star, going on a winning streak, becoming No. 1 contender and posing the biggest challenge to Storm's title reign yet.

In recent months, Storm has been the clear and unquestioned focus of the women's division, but that could be changing with the emergence of Purrazzo and likely arrival of Mercedes.

Purrazzo was a dominant force during her time in Impact Wrestling, and it hasn't taken much to present The Virtuosa as a threat to knock off Storm.

Storm retaining and entering into a feud with Mercedes once she debuts is possible, but it also won't be a shock if Purrazzo wins in an effort to build up yet another top female star on the roster.
