NFL Rumors: Jayden Daniels Met with Raiders, Giants, Jets, Patriots, More at Combine

LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels is meeting with more than a half-dozen teams at this week's scouting combine.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Daniels is set to meet with the Chicago Bears, Washington Commanders, Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets, New York Giants, New England Patriots, Las Vegas Raiders, Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints.

It's likely additional teams will be added to that roster, but Daniels is clearly in demand as he tries to establish himself among the draft's top quarterbacks.

The Bears, Commanders and Patriots have the top three picks in April's draft. Chicago is widely expected to take USC's Caleb Williams if the team remains at No. 1, but general manager Ryan Poles has been open about exploring all options. The Bears could wind up trading back a pick or two and selecting Daniels if they feel he's on par with Williams as a prospect.

The Commanders and Patriots are far more likely landing spots. Washington will almost certainly take its favorite between Daniels and Drake Maye at No. 2, assuming Williams is off the board, and the Patriots have also been linked to taking a franchise quarterback.

New England selected Mac Jones in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft but appears ready to move on after he was benched last season in favor of Bailey Zappe. It's possible neither Jones nor Zappe will be on the roster next season under new coach Jerod Mayo.

Daniels is the best dual-threat quarterback in the 2024 NFL draft class. He threw for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns against four interceptions while adding 1,134 yards and 10 scores on the ground.

The LSU product, who began his college career at Arizona State, is not slated to throw at the combine.
