Ravens' Zay Flowers Won't Face Charges After Police's Domestic Violence Investigation

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers was allegedly tied to a domestic violence investigation, but Justin Fenton of the Baltimore Banner reported the Baltimore County Police Department closed the case without pressing any charges.

Fenton cited documents that revealed a woman told police in Acton, Massachusetts, that she was involved in a domestic incident with an NFL player whom she refused to identify. She told police the player's brother drew a firearm during the incident.

The police report said "she stated that she was physically assaulted which left her with multiple bruises."

She also went to the police on Jan. 21 with her father and a friend and said she was involved in a "violent domestic incident" the week prior but "explained that she was very hesitant to give much information due to the high-profile status of the other party involved," according to the police report.

Fenton reported she also did not disclose any additional details when she was later contacted by police.

Police conducted social media searches to see who she was "associated with," and a 911 call from a woman was geolocated to the house next to Flowers', but the investigation was suspended on Feb. 16.

The police department previously issued a statement to the Baltimore Banner saying: "The department has an open investigation and is working to determine if any crime has occurred. Any statement that confirms Zay Flowers as a suspect is inaccurate."

Flowers just completed his rookie season for the Ravens. He appeared in 16 regular-season games and both of the team's postseason games.
