Spurs' Victor Wembanyama Signs Louis Vuitton Endorsement Contract as Ambassador

Two of France's most recognizable brands are joining forces.

Louis Vuitton signed San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama as an ambassador.

"Striving for excellence and with a perpetual honing of craft, Victor joins Louis Vuitton on a journey of shared values and aligned ambitions. Like Louis Vuitton himself, the young athlete has blazed a trail, excelling in a career that is only just beginning," the company said Tuesday.

GQ's Sam Schube noted Wembanyama wore a Louis Vuitton suit to the 2023 NBA draft, and his dark green ensemble was generally well received.

"I think it was well worth it, because it's definitely the best suit of this year's draft, and also the past years, in my opinion," the 20-year-old said. "It was just beautiful. And now it's all coming together."

This partnership reinforces Wembanyama's status as the "Next Big Thing" in the NBA.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James can't play forever, and his departure could create a vacuum much in the same way Michael Jordan's retirement did in 1998. The league isn't lacking in star power beyond James, but Wembanyama might be the player most likely to inherit the mantle as the face of the NBA for years to come in the same way LeBron has.
