Video: 'Giannis: The Marvelous Journey' Trailer Drops Ahead of Release Date

Amazon Prime Video released the trailer for Giannis: The Marvelous Journey, the upcoming documentary chronicling the rise of Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, which will be released on the streaming platform Feb. 19.

Antetokounmpo grew up in Athens, Greece, and spent the early part of his life playing soccer before a growth spurt led to him picking up a basketball in 2007. Six years later, he was a first-round pick of the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2013 NBA draft, the very definition of a crapshoot after playing only two years of professional basketball for Filathlitikos, a second-division team in Greece.

While Antetokounmpo's physical potential was immense, teams had little game tape and next to no in-person experience watching him before he was drafted. One could argue that Giannis was the last great mystery of the internet era.

Not even his biggest champions could have seen what was to come.

Antetokounmpo has made eight All-Star teams, won two NBA MVPs and led the Bucks to a 2021 championship. He's carved out a Hall of Fame career all before the age of 30, emerging as the most dominant two-way force in the NBA.

The chronicle of his surprising rise should make for an interesting documentary—and his career isn't even close to being over.
