It seems like Jason Kelce's NFL future is still up in the air.

Following the Philadelphia Eagles Wild Card Round loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Kelce would be retiring after 13 seasons in the NFL. This has received some pushback, and he elaborated on his process during an appearance on The Big Podcast with Shaq.

"I think if I still want to play, I'm going to play," Kelce said around the 2:48 mark. "I think right now [I'm] not far enough away from the last game… It's emotional, it's a long season, the end of the season quite frankly, awful. So I'm just going to take some time, rest, coup and then figure it out. I think I'll have an answer in the next couple weeks"

Kelce has received numerous accolades in his career, including seven Pro Bowl selections, six All-Pro distinctions and a Super Bowl LII victory. He was a key contributor to an Eagles offensive live that has been a dominant force in the NFC and losing him would be a big blow to the team.

Still, he was reported to have contemplated retirement in recent seasons and this year's late-season collapse for Philadelphia surely didn't help matters. The Eagles started the season 10-1 but struggled to a 1-6 finish that included the playoff loss to the Buccaneers.

The team went from a contender for the No. 1 seed to a Wild Card team, and that certainly left a sour taste for a franchise that reached the Super Bowl in the prior season.

His brother Travis' success with the Kansas City Chiefs, who won Super Bowl LVIII, could inspire Jason to keep it going for another season. Regardless, it looks like any finality on his future is at least a few weeks away.
