Diontae Johnson Talks Viral Video of Steelers Fumble, Rumors of Locker Room Argument

Paul Kasabian

On Sunday morning, a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter claimed that Pittsburgh Steelers teammates Diontae Johnson and Minkah Fitzpatrick "got into a heated postgame locker room argument" after the team's 13-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns.

Later in the day, Johnson found himself in the spotlight again after his lack of effort on teammate Jaylen Warren's fumble in the Steelers' 16-10 win over the Cincinnati Bengals

Johnson addressed both items in a postgame interview.

Johnson finished with four catches for 50 yards, and the Steelers' win put them at 7-4 for the year.

Bengals cornerback D.J. Turner recovered Warren's fumble, which occurred on the Bengals' 13-yard line with the score tied in the first quarter. Cincinnati couldn't take advantage of the opportunity and punted en route to its six-point loss.

Ultimately, that play (and Johnson's effort) was much ado about nothing with the Steelers winning the game.

Pittsburgh can also take away a big positive in its first matchup following the firing of offensive coordinator Matt Canada, in that this was its first game of 400 or more yards on offense in 58 tries.

The Steelers can also push any bad vibes in the rearview mirror thanks to an easy upcoming schedule that features a pair of two-win teams (the Arizona Cardinals and New England Patriots) up ahead. Going to 9-4 and inching far closer to a playoff spot seems like a distinct reality at this point.

For now, the Steelers can bask in the glow of a bounceback victory.
