Lakers' LeBron James' Son Bryce Transfers Back to Sierra Canyon HS

LeBron James son, Bryce James, has transferred back to Sierra Canyon High School after enrolling at Notre Dame/Sherman Oaks ahead of the 2023-24 season, per Tarek Fattal of SI.com.

Bryce James spent his freshman and sophomore seasons at Sierra Canyon before transferring to Notre Dame this year.

Fattal reported that the junior "officially unenrolled, turned in school and basketball equipment back to Notre Dame early Tuesday" and will be "eligible to compete immediately at Sierra Canyon, according to the CIF Southern Section's A-B-A rule."

He would have been ineligible for the first half of Notre Dame's season due to transfer rules, which only offer an exemption for a change of address. Since he didn't compete in any games for Notre Dame, however, he'll instantly be eligible at Sierra Canyon.

There had been reports that James was going to leave Sierra Canyon for Studio City's Campbell Hall ahead of the 2023-24 season before his short-lived tenure at Notre Dame.

James didn't see much playing time for Sierra Canyon as a sophomore, averaging 3.8 points across 12 varsity contests. He spent those seasons playing alongside his older brother, Bronny, who is now at USC and has yet to appear in a game as he recovers from surgery for a potential congenital heart defect after suffering cardiac arrest in July.

He is currently considered a 3-star prospect in the 247Sports' Composite Rankings and is listed as the No. 135 prospect overall, the No. 21 shooting guard and the No. 16 player from the state of California.

He has offers from Duquesne and Ohio State.
