Davante Adams on Raiders Beating Ravens: Don't Mean We're Going to Win the Super Bowl

Las Vegas Raiders star Davante Adams is trying to keep his team's feet on the ground following a 26-23 win over the Baltimore Ravens.

"It don't mean we're going to win the Super Bowl because we did that," he told reporters. "But I think it means a lot in this locker room for us to dig deep, after not starting the way we wanted in the first game, let alone the first half."

The win at least presents a potential contrast from the last few years in Sin City. The Raiders lost their first three games in 2022 and dropped three straight following a Week 1 win over the Denver Broncos in 2023.

While Las Vegas fell to the Los Angeles Chargers in its opener, beating a Super Bowl contender in Week 2 potentially sends a message.

Adams had nine receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown in the victory.

While the franchise as a whole hasn't hit the heights it expected after acquiring the 31-year-old, he has delivered individually. He's coming off a strong 2023 season, catching 103 passes for 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns despite Las Vegas' choppy quarterback play.

It's a common theme because Adams has impressed at every stop.

"He played through a contract year, played injured and not everybody does that," his former head coach with the Green Bay Packers, Matt LaFleur, told reporters ahead of the 2023 matchup between the teams. "He was there for our team. He fought through things. He went out there and he told me before the season, he's like, 'Hey, listen, I don't have a contract before the season, you don't have to worry about it because I'm going to come out there and compete.'"

Adams is without doubt Las Vegas' most dangerous playmaker. Moving forward, his production on the field and leadership in the locker room will help set the tone if the Raiders are to achieve anything.
