Former Boxing Champ Kell Brook Apologizes After Leaked Video of Him Snorting Powder

Retired boxer Kell Brook issued an apology Thursday after a video leaked that showed him snorting a white powder.

"I messed up," he said in the message he posted to Twitter while also revealing his "struggle with mental health" and difficulties in dealing with retirement:

TMZ Sports noted the video was posted in January and showed him using a straw to snort the powder from a glass coffee table.

Brook's manager, Terry Thompson, said the video was "a joke," but Brook accepted responsibility with his apology.

The 36-year-old retired in May, which was just months after he defeated Amir Khan via sixth-round knockout in February. It was a bounce-back effort for Brook, who fought for the first time since he lost via fourth-round TKO against Terence Crawford in November 2020.

That loss to Crawford was Brook's return to welterweight for the first time since he lost his IBF title in 2017.

Brook retired with a 40-3 record and 28 knockouts. He notably won the IBF welterweight title in 2014.

The TMZ report noted his promoter, Ben Shalom, said he is considering a return to boxing.
