Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy apologized to the cameraman he crossed paths with on his way to the locker room following Sunday's 19-12 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC divisional round.

Noah Bullard said on Twitter that he met privately with McCarthy. The coach had shoved Bullard's camera lens while walking off the field.

McCarthy was obviously frustrated with the defeat. A once-promising season is over, and the Cowboys' inability to advance past the divisional round persists. They've yet to reach the NFC title game since winning their last Super Bowl in 1995.

And for the second successive year, the Cowboys' final drive heaped significant scrutiny on McCarthy and the coaching staff.

Dak Prescott and the offense got the ball on their own 6-yard line with 45 seconds remaining. Dallas moved the ball just 18 yards to set up one last play, and McCarthy's play call was one of the most puzzling in recent memory given the circumstances.

The Cowboys split the offensive line out wide and lined up running back Ezekiel Elliott at center. Elliott was immediately barreled over after the snap, and wide receiver KaVontae Turpin was tackled for an eight-yard gain before anything materialized.

You can understand McCarthy's exasperation, but he obviously didn't handle himself well in the immediate aftermath.
