WWE WrestleMania 39 Breaks All-Time Gate Record Previously Set at Cowboys Stadium

While WrestleMania 39 is three months away, it already has the largest gate in WrestleMania history.

WWE announced Monday that WrestleMania 39, which will be held at the Los Angeles Rams' and Los Angeles Chargers' SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, has surpassed the previous record of a $17.3 million WrestleMania gate.

The prior record was set at WrestleMania 32, which emanated from the Dallas Cowboys' AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

WrestleMania 39 will be a two-day event held April 1 and 2, giving it a leg up on most previous WrestleManias in terms of how many tickets are available.

The first two-night WrestleMania was WrestleMania 36, although that came out of necessity and didn't sell tickets since it occurred at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and was held on a closed set.

WrestleMania 37 and 38 were also two-night affairs, and WrestleMania 37 had limited seats for sale because of the pandemic.

While a two-night WrestleMania makes it easier to sell a huge number of tickets, securing the highest WrestleMania gate ever three months from the event remains an impressive feat.

The company has not announced or teased a match for WrestleMania 39, although speculation about having The Rock, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and John Cena present and potentially wrestling may have helped draw sales.

Also, undisputed WWE universal champion Roman Reigns is one of the most popular Superstars in years, and he promises to headline at least one of the two nights.

In addition to setting a WrestleMania gate record, WWE heralded other gate records it has set in recent months in Monday's press release.

WWE noted that 2022 saw live-gate records for Royal Rumble, Survivor Series and Extreme Rules, while the September Clash at the Castle event held in Cardiff, Wales, set a gate record for a WWE show held in the United Kingdom.

With the 2023 Royal Rumble set for Jan. 28 in San Antonio, the build toward WrestleMania has begun in earnest, and it will only heat up as the weeks and months go by.
