Early Predictions For WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2022 Match Card After Crown Jewel

Erik Beaston

WWE's Crown Jewel is in the rearview mirror, and with that, all attention turns to Survivor Series on Nov. 26.

We know that this year's edition of the annual Thanksgiving weekend tradition will feature men's and women's WarGames matches, with each figuring to bring a close to long-running or intensifying feuds.

Who fans should expect to participate in those matches and which other bouts will make up the 2022 card are the main questions.

Ahead of the final premium live event of the year, explore the answers with these early predictions for the match lineup.

The OC and Beth Phoenix vs. The Judgment Day

The OC has teased bringing in someone to offset Rhea Ripley for weeks, but at Crown Jewel it failed to produce and ultimately fell prey to The Nightmare's interference en route to another big-time victory for The Judgment Day.

Between now and Survivor Series, expect AJ Styles, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows to finally introduce their neutralizer. While some have suspected it may be Charlotte Flair or the return of a previously released star, it makes most sense for that person to be WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix.

Much was made of the fact that Ripley styled her hair similar to that of The Glamazon, and the heel even sent out a tweet that seemingly eulogized the career of the woman she once considered an idol.

While it would be a tough sell to suggest that Phoenix would be back from the Con-Chair-To that she suffered at the hands of The Judgment Day before her husband, Edge, it appears to be the most likely direction given the creative that has already been put in place.

That is not a bad thing by any means. At the least, it makes sense. At the most, it pays off a key part of the storyline that has been months in the making and finally frees The OC up to gain a measure of revenge without worrying about Ripley factoring into the finish.

Maybe Flair is the answer or another NXT alumnus returns to make an impact, but Phoenix feels like the right answer and should help fuel Styles and The Good Brothers to a definitive victory.

United States Championship Match: Mustafa Ali vs. Seth Rollins

To say the wrestling world was somewhat surprised when Mustafa Ali emerged as the first challenger to Seth Rollins' United States Championship would be an understatement.

Pleasantly surprised, sure, but surprised nonetheless.

Ali is a great wrestler stuck in the deep, dark abyss of creative irrelevancy for far too long and appears hellbent on proving his worth to a new regime. There is no better way to do that than against the one guy responsible for consistently delivering in big spots: The Visionary.

Rollins can get a fantastic match out of anyone and, when paired with another enormously talented individual like Ali, is capable of stealing any show on which he appears.

It is possible that WWE Creative inserts Austin Theory into the mix based on recent booking trends, making it a Triple Threat Match, but the better match is a straight-up singles match that lets the champion and challenger make the most of the time and deliver quality professional wrestling.

Team Liv vs. Team Ronda

It is highly unlikely that Ronda Rousey does not have a presence on this show. With her recent reunion with Shayna Baszler and the unlikely scenario that she defends her title in yet another match with Liv Morgan, a traditional Survivor Series tag match feels like the next best option.

A team captained by Rousey and containing Baszler, Zelina Vega, Xia Li and Sonya Deville squaring off with a team headed by Morgan and featuring Shotzi, Emma, Raquel Rodriguez and either a healthy Aliyah or Hit Row's B-Fab seems like an acceptable way to get all of them involved in the show while continuing the rivalry over the blue brand's top prize.

Morgan not only has issues with Rousey, but has also been combatting Deville of late, too. Emma challenged Rowdy for the title in her first match back but has recently made an enemy in Li. Throw in the ongoing feud between B-Fab and Vega as well as the team of Shotzi and Rodriguez, and you have enough moving parts to keep things interesting.

More interesting than, say, another Morgan-Rousey one-on-one showdown.

Women's WarGames Match: Team Belair vs. Damage CTRL and Nikki Cross

The rivalry between Damage CTRL and the rest of the Raw women's division has stretched out for months, encapsulating television time and premium live-event matches. To this point, Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky have made good on their promises to win the women's tag team titles, but Bayley has struggled to dethrone Belair for the singles title.

After months of battling at every turn, the sides will settle their differences at WarGames, when Bayley, Sky and Kai partner with Nikki Cross to face Belair, former tag champions Alexa Bliss and Asuka as well as a fourth competitor.

On the surface, the most logical answer would be Becky Lynch given the fact that she was put out of action by the heels and would have a motive for revenge. If she was unavailable because of the shoulder injury she suffered at SummerSlam in July, ironically enough against Belair, an alternative would be Candice LeRae, who has had her own issues with Damage CTRL.

Whatever the case may be, it is clearly the direction the story is headed and will hopefully provide some adequate closure for a rivalry that has dominated airwaves on Mondays for the better part of the last two months.

Men's War Games Match: The Brawling Brutes and Drew McIntyre vs. The Bloodline

The Bloodline recently laid out Sheamus, sending the Celtic Warrior to the sidelines and leaving his Brawling Brutes teammates Butch and Ridge Holland to fend for themselves. They have not fared well, losing the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship match to The Usos at Crown Jewel.

Sheamus' return will likely see him target the faction, seeking revenge for his treatment at its hand. Alongside Butch and Holland, he figures to make life a living hell for a Bloodline faction riding high after Roman Reigns narrowly escaped Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

Drew McIntyre joining a former foe and aligning himself with The Brawling Brutes to do battle with The Bloodline, which has repeatedly made life miserable for him throughout 2022, makes sense. After all, he has unfinished business with Solo Sikoa, who cost him the top prize in the sport at Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales.

You might be asking where the fifth member of the babyface team is, but with the revelation that Jey Uso will undergo an MRI for a potentially broken wrist upon his return stateside, it is very likely there will only be four members of The Bloodline available.

From a storyline perspective, it would also be a hell of a development for Sami Zayn to compete on behalf of Jey and either win or lose the match and infuriate him.

Best of all, it would likely be a brutal, badass match featuring guys who have routinely been among the best on all of WWE television this year and hopefully settle the score between all of them so that things can advance forward from there.
