Former New York Mets acting general manager Zack Scott has been found not guilty of DWI charges.

According to The Athletic's Tim Britton, Scott was found not guilty on charges of driving while intoxicated and driving while ability impaired.

Anthony Rieber of Newsday noted Scott does have to pay two fines of $100 each.

Scott issued a statement after Thursday's verdict was announced:

Scott was arrested in White Plains, New York, on Aug. 31 when police found him asleep at the wheel of his vehicle at a traffic light and determined he was intoxicated.

Per Mike Puma, Craig McCarthy and Jorge Fitz-Gibbon of the New York Post, Scott failed a field sobriety test after refusing to give a blood sample or submit to a breathalyzer.

"We were surprised and deeply disappointed to learn this morning about an alleged DUI involving Zack Scott," the Mets said in a statement. "We take this matter very seriously. Zack will not be traveling with the team for our upcoming road trip while we learn more and determine next steps."

The Mets initially placed Scott on administrative leave before parting ways with him on Nov. 1. On Nov. 18, the Mets hired former Los Angeles Angels general manager Billy Eppler.

Scott was named New York's acting general manager in January 2021 after Jared Porter's firing. Scott originally joined the organization as the assistant general manager in December 2020 after spending 17 seasons with the Boston Red Sox.
