Titans HC Mike Vrabel Says He's Tested Positive for COVID-19

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel told reporters Sunday he has tested positive for COVID-19.

Per Titans senior writer/editor Jim Wyatt, Vrabel said he had a sore throat Sunday morning, leading to a test.

As Vrabel noted, no other coaches who were tested for COVID-19 Sunday have returned positive results, per ESPN's Turron Davenport.

Vrabel, who also added that he has an earache, is in quarantine and following protocols. The team is also currently conducting contact tracing.

The Titans had a COVID-19 outbreak during the 2020 season, and Vrabel referenced that when saying Sunday that the team will figure out how to navigate it, per John Glennon of Broadway Sports.

Vrabel needs two negative tests within a 48-hour period to return, per Paul Kuharsky of OutKick 360. If not, he will have to quarantine for 10 days.

The Titans head coach previously said he has been vaccinated.

He also revealed the team's practice plan as he quarantines, per Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com.

For now, he told reporters he's doing as much as he can to help the team prepare for its final preseason game, which is at home Saturday at 7 p.m. ET against the Chicago Bears.
