Cardinals Rookie Christian Kirk Arrested on Multiple Charges in February

Arizona Cardinals rookie wide receiver Christian Kirk was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and property damage in February, Kent Somers of AZCentral.com reported Monday.

According to Somers, authorities in Scottsdale, Arizona, said Kirk and a group of friends were exiting the Waste Management Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale. Security personnel at the course witnessed the group "throwing rocks at cars and breaking a window of at least one of them."

The Cardinals selected Kirk with the 47th overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft. A team spokesman told Somers the team knew of his arrest prior to the draft.

"We spoke with Christian about it at length and also looked into it independently," the spokesman said. "Our understanding is that the process will be resolved in the near future but while it remains an active legal matter, we won’t comment further."

Kirk is one of two Cardinals rookies who have yet to sign their first contracts with the team. He did, however, work out with his fellow rookies at Arizona's mandatory three-day minicamp for first-year players that started last Friday.

Kirk was a three-year starter at Texas A&M and caught 234 passes for 2,856 yards and 26 touchdowns before making the jump to the NFL.
