New Orleans Saints wide receiver Willie Snead reportedly signed a two-year offer sheet with the Baltimore Ravens on Friday worth a maximum of $10.4 million. The Saints have five days to match the proposed deal for the restricted free agent.

Adam Schefter of ESPN first reported the agreement. Schefter also noted it's "more likely that New Orleans will decline to match" after previously signing wideout Cameron Meredith away from the Chicago Bears.

Snead's role within the Saints offense dropped off dramatically in 2017.

The 25-year-old Ball State product made just eight catches for 92 yards with no touchdowns across 11 appearances. He tallied 141 grabs for 1,879 yards and seven scores across his first two full seasons in New Orleans after signing to the team's practice squad in December 2014.

Snead missed the first three games of the 2017 campaign because of a suspension. He never found a way to carve out a consistent role in the passing attack upon his return.

In November, Nick Underhill of The Advocate provided comments the previously reliable playmaker made about his lack of playing time.

"It's definitely been tough," Snead said. "I'm used to being in there on third down. I'm used to getting all those reps. But at the same time, I understand the point of view that these guys are coming from. ... Guys have been doing great in this offense. I feel like it's just all about getting me those reps again, ease me back into the offense."

Snead would likely compete against Chris Moore for playing time in the slot in Baltimore, with Michael Crabtree and John Brown or Breshad Perriman starting on the outside. As a whole, the receiving group would be far deeper than it was last season.

Meanwhile, the Saints don't have much reason to match the offer sheet with Meredith, Michael Thomas, Ted Ginn and Brandon Coleman taking up the top four spots on the depth chart.
