2024 RBC Heritage Suspended Until Monday Due to Darkness; Scottie Scheffler Leads

Scottie Scheffler appeared to be cruising to victory on Sunday at the 2024 RBC Heritage, but he will have to wait one more day to try to close things out.

The PGA Tour announced that the final round of the RBC Heritage has been suspended due to darkness and will resume on Monday at 8 a.m. ET.

This is the second unscheduled Monday finish on the PGA Tour during the 2024 season following the Cognizant Classic in early March.

Scheffler entered the final round with a one-shot lead after he shot a bogey-free 8-under 63 in Saturday's third round. The 2024 Masters champion continued his hot play on Sunday by shooting 4-under 56 through the first 15 holes before play was suspended, giving him a five-shot lead at -20. He recorded an eagle on the second hole and notched a pair of birdies on the fifth and 13th holes.

Scheffler is looking to become just the third Masters champion ever to win the following week on the PGA Tour. The only others to accomplish the feat were Gary Player in 1978 and Bernhard Langer in 1985. No player has won a PGA Tour event the week after winning a major tournament since Tiger Woods in 2006.

Four players are tied for second in the RBC Heritage at -15. Wyndham Clark's round is over, while Patrick Cantlay and J.T. Poston are on the 17th hole and Sahith Theegala is on the 15th. Sepp Straka, who is tied for ninth at -13, is on the 14th hole and has the most left to play.
