WWE Rumors on The Rock vs. Cody Rhodes Match, Seth Rollins and IShowSpeed Backstage

Possible Date for The Rock vs. Cody Rhodes

After teasing a match on the Raw after WrestleMania, WWE is going to keep fans waiting to see a one-on-one showdown between The Rock and Cody Rhodes.

Per Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Ishaan Rathi of Ringside News), the matchup isn't expected to happen anytime before WrestleMania 41.

Rhodes kicked off Monday night's show by celebrating his victory over Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. The Rock interrupted and told him "our story has just begun" before saying he had to leave for a while, but he would be back at some point.

The segment ended with the Great One giving Rhodes something that was never seen on camera, while telling him, "Don't you ever break my heart again."

There seemed to be little doubt that a Rock-Rhodes match was coming, especially after the People's Champion pinned Cody in the middle of the ring to win the tag match on WrestleMania Saturday.

While there had been speculation about the Rock potentially wrestling Roman Reigns at one of the Saudi Arabia shows this year, he reportedly turned down that plan because he wanted to do it at WrestleMania.

Even though plans changed for the WrestleMania 40 main event, it does show that The Rock seems primarily focused on wrestling at WWE's biggest show of the year.

The Rock's movie schedule also makes it easier for WWE to draw the storyline out since he won't be around for a long time. If he does do a one-on-one match with Rhodes, the company already has one of the main events for next year's WrestleMania set up.

Seth Rollins Taking Time Off

After a busy WrestleMania weekend, Seth Rollins is set to take a hiatus from WWE for the time being.

Per Meltzer (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), Rollins is going to step away to let his body heal with the hope that he will only be gone for four weeks.

It's not unusual for top stars to get some time off after WrestleMania ends. Rollins suffered a torn MCL and partially torn meniscus in January during a match against Jinder Mahal for the world heavyweight title.

Even though Rollins was able to make it through WrestleMania season, taking time off will allow him to get his body back to full strength.

WrestleMania weekend was a rough one for Rollins. He and Rhodes lost the tag match in the main event of night one. In the opening bout on night two, he lost the world heavyweight championship to Drew McIntyre.

In the Rhodes-Reigns match, Rollins showed up in his Shield attire to take a Superman punch and chair shot from Roman.

If anyone on the WrestleMania card needed to step away for time off, it's Rollins.

A four-week absence would mean Rollins doesn't wrestle on the Backlash premium live event in France on May 4. He could be back in time for the King and Queen of the Ring event in Saudi Arabia on May 25.

WWE Reaction to IShowSpeed Appearance

IShowSpeed, who was revealed to be the person in the Prime bottle costume accompanying Logan Paul to the ring at WrestleMania, had a colorful WWE debut.

The YouTube star was heard on camera directing strong language toward Randy Orton when the Viper confronted him outside of the ring during the United States title match.

While WWE has certainly relaxed some of its standards regarding curse words on television, at least for top stars like the Rock and CM Punk, there are different rules depending on where you stand in the overall hierarchy.

Despite IShowSpeed's language, Fightful Select (h/t Rathi) reported the backstage response to it was relatively muted and most people were amused when the cap on his Prime costume flew off after Orton kicked him.

IShowSpeed took the boot from the Viper like a champ and did a great job selling the RKO through a table. His appearance helped Paul retain the U.S. title in the triple-threat match that also included Kevin Owens.
