WWE Rumors: Reviewing Top Buzz Following WrestleMania 40

Erik Beaston

WWE ushered in a new era with WrestleMania 40; an era under Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque that dared to be different from what fans had become accustomed to and according to reports, the company is only warming up.

The introduction of fresh, new, and exciting is only one buzzy topic coming out of the Showcase of the Immortals.

Rumors on a potential new Bloodline member and an update on the most passionate, unforgettable speech of the weekend awaits in the is collection of insider innuendo.

It's a New Era, Yes It Is

Stephanie McMahon kicked off Sunday's WrestleMania festivities by labeling the new era of WWE as the "Paul Levesque Era" after her husband, Chief Content Officer, Paul "Triple H" Levesque.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported, "Those we spoke to confirmed this is a direct reference to the fact that not only is Vince McMahon gone from the company due to allegations of sex trafficking, harassment, and sexual assault, but that there is no pathway to Vince McMahon returning."

He continued, "As Vince McMahon is gone, many of his standards and rules are out the window."

Ibou of WrestlingPurists tweeted, "Spoke to someone from WWE who told me that the promotion is deliberately moving away from the terminology of Sports Entertainment."

Sapp finished his report by stating that the production team has also received high marks backstage, and rightfully so. The changes, including the lack of camera cuts and the same other tropes that had become stale and outdated, are long overdue and have instantly improved the quality of WWE television.

It is not particularly surprising by any means that WWE and Levesque would want to incorporate new elements to the product and do away with the more antiquated or in effected elements that were put in place by the previous regime.

WrestleMania represented the beginning of a new era and as the company advances further into it, expect to see, hear, and experience fresh and new.

Considering how stuck in their ways the old regime was, it is certainly welcome.

A New Bloodline Member Incoming?

Could The Bloodline be poised to rebuild with the introduction of a new member?

Sapp and Corey Brennan, also of Fightful Select, reported that former MLW heavyweight champion Jacob Fatu "Others that he has signed with WWE as of this past Wednesday, which led to him being pulled from a scheduled GCW appearance on Saturday."

Fatu is part of the legendary Samoan Dynasty and the cousin of Roman Reigns and The Usos.

An athletic big man, he earned rave reviews for his time in MLW, where he battled the likes of LA Park and Alex Hammerstone.

He would fit right in with the Bloodline and add another physical, dangerous entity to the mix. Should there be a reset of the group under The Rock, he would be the perfect tone-setter as the first member.

Free Rein for The Wise Man

One of the most unforgettable moments of the WrestleMania weekend came Friday night as part of the 2024 Hall of Fame induction ceremony with Paul Heyman's enshrinement.

The Mad Genius of Extreme was passionate, engaging, funny, and emotional as he talked about his family, pledging allegiance to WWE under Triple H, his history of coming back from adversity, and the legacy of ECW.

Aaron Varble of SEScoops.com reported that Heyman was given "free rein" for his speech.

He wrote, "Prior to Heyman's speech, several members of the creative team were told that, 'We're inducting Heyman in Philly, and we know what the audience is going to want, and we're going to let Heyman give it to them.'"

Heyman did just that, dropping F-bombs and addressing the fans with the sometimes irreverent bluntness that has made him as beloved as he has been and ECW the counterculture promotion in professional wrestling.

It was, unarguably, one of the greatest Hall of Fame speeches of all time from a man who could read the dictionary to the audience and make it interesting, thanks to his unabashed bravado and enormous personality.
