WWE WrestleMania 41: The Rock vs. Roman Reigns and Dream Matches We Need to See

Erik Beaston

On the heels of the biggest WrestleMania ever, WWE will turn its attention to next year and the match-ups it hopes to entertain the masses with as it enters its fifth decade of The Showcase of the Immortals.

Some of those encounters are dream matches that fans have either waited years to see or will discover along the way.

What are they and why should WWE consider booking them for next year's massive extravaganza?

Let's take a look.

The Rock vs. Roman Reigns

The end of Roman Reigns' run as undisputed WWE universal champion Sunday night at the hands of Cody Rhodes leaves one glaring question: what becomes of his role as Tribal Chief in The Bloodline?

Will The Rock, The Final Boss himself, argue that he should be Head of the Table following his victory Saturday night in Philadelphia? Might he introduce new members to the group and put his own mark on it?

How The Great One reacts to Reigns' defeat and looks to shape The Bloodline in his own image will serve as the foundation for the inevitable issues, and showdown, between the generational stars.

A scenario where Reigns is the babyface, faced with defeating The Rock and preventing the same oppressive rule he forced on WWE, is an intriguing one that would give him the defining victory of his career.

It would also provide fans with the dream match that they were not ready for this year; one of the few remaining, legitimate dream matches the industry has to offer.

CM Punk vs. Seth "Freakin" Rollins

CM Punk and Seth Rollins have made it abundantly clear in promos since the former's return that they do not like each other. There is no love lost whatsoever, making their in-ring confrontations that much more tense and entertaining.

They are also cut from the same cloth; indie stars who succeeded in WWE despite their history and because of their work ethic. They won fans over, separated themselves from the pack, and rose to popularity because they were among the best in the world.

They have also never squared off in one-on-one action in a major setting before.

With Punk poised to battle Drew McIntyre upon returning from injury, and Rollins potentially emerging as a contender to Cody Rhodes' Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, they are likely to be kept apart for the time being.

Those two feuds will allow WWE Creative to build the feud both the competitors and fans deserve, culminating in a match with the potential to steal any card it appears on.

If they are at the best, a Match of the Year contender is not out of the question.

Bianca Belair vs. Rhea Ripley

Should Rhea Ripley hold onto the Women's World Championship until WrestleMania 41, she will complete her second full year with the title.

Bianca Belair will already enter that event with an unblemished record on the grand stage.

A title vs. streak match between the two would be a marquee contest between two women who came out of the same NXT class and have enjoyed parallel runs to the top of the industry. It would also be a showdown between two women who have legitimacy and credibility in the eyes of the fans, making it a bona fide main-event match.

WWE has kept them away from each other, too, meaning the market has not been oversaturated with that match-up. They have not battled since 2022, an eternity ago in professional wrestling.

There have been well-received teases here and there, hinting at the possibility but never beating the fans over the head with the potential match-up, meaning there will be genuine interest the first time Belair steps up to Ripley.

Given their performances on the grand stage, it is safe to assume the match would be a legitimate Match of the Year candidate, too, making the prospects of such a showdown that much more desirable.
